Chocolate Pudding Pie

Yields 1 (9-inch) pie

1 (9-inch) pre-made pie shell or chocolate cookie pie shell (see recipe: Single-crust Pie Pastry or Chocolate Cookie Pie Shell)

3 cups pre-made chocolate instant pudding  

Whipped cream topping (see recipe: Fresh Whipped Cream)

Chopped walnuts (for garnish)

Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Maraschino cherries (for garnish)

1. Pour pudding into pie shell.
2. Cover pie with a thick layer of whipped cream.
3. Place pie in freezer for a few hours.
4. Allow pie to thaw at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes prior to serving. If desired, garnish frozen pie with chopped walnuts, chocolate shavings, and cherries.
