Chocolate-Hazelnut Covered Strawberries

Serves 24

24 fresh whole strawberries (with stems)

8 ounces dark or milk chocolate (coarsely chopped)

½ cup finely chopped hazelnuts

  1. Gently wash strawberries (leaving on stems) and pat dry.
  2. Melt chocolate in a double boiler (or microwave). Remove from heat.
  3. Holding by stem, dip each strawberry in melted chocolate. Lift and twist slightly to allow excess chocolate to drip back into bowl. Place on a sheet pan covered with wax or parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle finely chopped hazelnuts over strawberries (before chocolate sets).
  4. Allow chocolate to cool and harden. Serving suggestions: Delicious as a garnish for cakes, parfaits, sundaes, or just as is for a decadent sweet treat!
